Who we are

Maples CarLog (also called Sổ Xe) is made by Trident Maples LLC, a limited liability company registered in the State of Texas, United States, at 25722 Kingsland Blvd, Ste 103F, Katy, TX 77494. In this policy, "we" means that company and "the app" means Maples CarLog, whether you use it in a web browser or as the iPhone app.

What the app stores, and where

Everything you put into the app stays on the device you put it into: your vehicles, fuel and charging, services, expenses, income, notes, reminders, garages, vehicle specs, and any photos or voice notes you add.

• In a browser, it is kept in that browser's own storage for this site.
• In the iPhone app, it is kept in the app's own files on the phone.

There is no account to create and no server of ours involved. We do not receive your records, and we have no way to look at them.

Google Drive sync — only if you turn it on

The app can keep a copy of your records in your own Google Drive, so the same log appears on your phone and your computer. This is off until you connect it, and the app works fully without it.

What the app is allowed to see

The app asks Google for one permission: https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.file. That permission lets an app see only the files it created itself. The rest of your Drive is invisible to it — the app cannot read, list or touch any other file you have.

What it puts there

• A folder called Maples CarLog in your Drive.
• One data file, carlog-data.json, holding your records.
• One file for each photo and voice note you have added.

The folder is yours. You can open it, move it, rename it, or delete the whole thing, and the app will find it again or build a new one from what is on your device.

What we learn

Nothing. The connection is between your device and Google. We hold no copy and no key to it. The app reads your Google account's email address once, so it can show you which account is connected; that address is stored on your device only and is removed when you disconnect.

Google's rules

Maples CarLog's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Google's own handling of your data is covered by Google's Privacy Policy.

Turning it off

Settings ▸ Disconnect Google hands back the access and forgets the address on this device. Your records stay on the device, and the copy in your Drive stays where it is — delete it yourself if you want it gone.

Searching for a garage — only when you type one

When you look up a garage or shop by name, the text you type has to be sent somewhere to be searched:

• iPhone app: to Apple, through Apple Maps. The app may ask permission to use your approximate location so that nearby places come first. You can refuse and still search; it just orders results by the country you chose instead.
• Web app: to Photon, a search service run by komoot using OpenStreetMap data.

Only what you typed goes with the request — and on iPhone, your approximate location if you allowed it. None of your vehicles, entries or other records are ever sent.

Camera, photos, microphone and notifications

• Camera and photo library: used only at the moment you add a photo. The photo is stored with your records on the device.
• Microphone: used only while you are recording a voice note.
• Notifications: the iPhone app schedules reminders on the phone itself. Nothing about them leaves the device, and there is no push server.

What we never do

• No analytics or usage tracking of any kind.
• No crash or error reporting services.
• No advertising, and no advertising identifiers.
• No third-party tracking code, pixels or social media widgets.
• No selling, renting or sharing of anything, because we hold nothing to sell.
• No profiles, no scoring, no automated decisions about you.

The one thing loaded from outside is the page's typeface, from Google Fonts, on this website — not inside the app.

Backup files

You can save a backup file of everything, including photos and voice notes. That file is yours: where you put it, who you send it to, and how long you keep it are entirely up to you. It never passes through us.

Getting rid of your data

• On the device: Settings ▸ Erase all data on this device.
• In Drive: delete the Maples CarLog folder in your own Drive.
• Everything: do both, then remove the app.

Because we hold nothing, there is nothing for you to ask us to delete. If you would like that confirmed in writing, email us and we will say so.

Children

The app is for people looking after a vehicle and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect anything from children — in fact we do not knowingly collect anything from anyone.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version appears on this page with a new date at the top. If a change ever affects what leaves your device, we will say so plainly rather than quietly editing a line.
